Aisha bint (daughter of) Abu-Bakr (RA).
The truthful one, the daughter of the truthful one, wife of the Prophet (peace be upon him). “Of the Ansar, she was a very assertive, intelligent woman. We learn so much between her marital life with the Prophet (peace be upon him), and gave us access to the Prophet (peace be upon him) like no other because of how long she lived after the death of the Prophet (peace be upon him), 58 years after Hijra.
A scholar, she is responsible for transmitting many of the Hadith we have today.
She would report mistakes she had made in altercations with the Prophet (peace be upon him), putting her pride aside in order to transmit a teaching.
She was the most knowledgable of Fiqh, medicine, and poetry and surpassed many others of her time.
When Aisha (RA) was slanderered by one of the companions, she was the only one ever defended directly by Allah (swt) through 10 Ayat in Surat Nur (verses 10-20). This is indicative of her status.
Her status was such, that the Prophet (peace be upon him) passed away in her lap.” Content extracted from a lecture provided by Omar Suleiman on QURAN WEEKLY. Check out the full episode at: https://goo.gl/V2cHB6
